The Obama family is featured in the latest issue of People Magazine. In the interview, Obama tells People his family isn’t on Facebook because he doesn’t want people knowing his business.
The President:
“Why would we want to have a whole bunch of people who we don’t know,
knowing our business? That doesn’t make much sense…”
Barack Obama, as you do know, was voted into office by millions of strangers to be our most powerful public figure. And readers who love gossip, know that People is a magazine with a longstanding history of revealing the private business of public figures.
Upon release of this interview, some members of the press took to television and the web to make it their business to get into the President’s business by informing viewers and readers that they commend Obama for telling the public, via People Magazine, his wishes to keep a bunch of people he doesn’t know, out of his business.
I don’t know Obama, so it’s none of my business, but to me, that doesn’t make much sense.
I like your comedy stylings Charlie Kazfranco.
I want to know why Obama doesn’t want me to know what he knows about his private life.
Let me know when you know what Obama knows.
Your point is valid and funny. This is always my thing with celebrities. Because you want to be famous, you can’t expect to always have your privacy. If you want privacy, do theater and no one will know you. If he wants privacy, don’t run for president.
As @yoyoha tweeted:
“I used to think I’d be a good President, until I remembered how stressed out I get when someone’s walking behind me on the sidewalk.”
It does make sense. What WOULDN’T make sense was if he said, “I had a terrible case of the runs this morning. It was just awful. I ran out of paper and had to use the hand towel. I don’t want anyone knowing that!”
Sounds sensible enough.
I’m just glad I don’t have to be a public figure with a private life!
What if you had to be a public figurine? Would you be pottery, metal or plastic? Placed on a bookcase, dresser or in a thrift store on a back shelf near the hats?
I was a public figurine once. If I wasn’t so shy I’d tell you about it.
